LOCATION: Yuma Area Office, Resource Management Office, Water & Lands Contracts Group, Lands Team located in Yuma, Arizona.

Reclamation is seeking a non-commercial, non-residential Realty Specialist looking for an opportunity to capitalize on his/her expertise advising on the acquisition of land, easements or other interests in real property, as well as land management. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Any travel, transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty at the location designated will be the responsibility of the selectee.

Prepares and processes land use contracts for standard use authorizations in the form of licenses, easements, permits, and leases with state, county, other federal agencies and other entities.

Conducts field inspections to ensure Reclamation land is being utilized in compliance with project needs.

Researches regulatory material for information concerning the processing of land use contracts.

Provides technical review of other team members' work products.

Assists in the performance of land acquisition, disposal and exchange.

Researches land records and coordinates with state, county, city, federal agencies and other entities.

Maintains Reclamation land records for accountability and reference.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Visits to proposed project areas, site visits to landowners' residences or offices and other Reclamation offices.

In order to qualify at the GS-09 grade level, your resume must reflect a masters or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 years of higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LLB or JD if related OR your resume must reflect one year of full time experience applying real estate priciples to perform land management, acquisition, disposal and exchange duties.

In order to qualify for the GS-11 grade level, your resume must reflect a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree OR LL.M. or J.D., if related OR your resume one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in Federal service evaluating, preparing and processing property transactions reviewing legal descriptions, preparing deeds and/or lease instruments; verifying the accuracy of leases; and preparing land use agreements.

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Human Resources (HR) will review resumes and transcript(s) if applicable, to ensure applicants meet the basic qualification requirements. Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position.
